Marvin Ridge school choir, Wesley Chapel Scouts raise $2,500 from Flapjack Fundraisers
Two local nonprofits have raised more than $2,500 total after hosting separate Flapjack Fundraisers recently at Union County Applebee’s restaurants, local franchisee The Apple Gold Group has announced. The Marvin Ridge High School Women’s Choir Ensemble raised $1,365 to fund a trip to Williamsburg for a spring choral festival. Wesley Chapel Boy Scout Troop 62 collected $1,300. Money will help pay for scout trips to Camp Grimes in Nebo, N.C., and a troop ski trip.
The Marvin Ridge singers collected the money in just two hours selling more than 310 pancake breakfasts at the restaurant at 5110 Piper Station Drive in Charlotte, according to a press release. The scouts raised their funds in three hours at the restaurant at 8700 JW Clay Blvd. in Charlotte, selling 220 breakfasts.
