Marvin Ridge school choir, Wesley Chapel Scouts raise $2,500 from Flapjack Fundraisers

Two local nonprofits have raised more than $2,500 total after hosting separate Flapjack Fundraisers recently at Union County Applebee’s restaurants, local ­franchisee The Apple Gold Group has announced. The Marvin Ridge High School Women’s Choir Ensemble raised $1,365 to fund a trip to Williamsburg for a spring choral festival. Wesley Chapel Boy Scout Troop 62 collected $1,300. Money will help pay for scout trips to Camp Grimes in Nebo, N.C., and a troop ski trip.

The Marvin Ridge singers collected the money in just two hours selling more than 310 pancake breakfasts at the restaurant at 5110 Piper Station Drive in ­Charlotte, according to a press release. The scouts raised their funds in three hours at the restaurant at 8700 JW Clay Blvd. in Charlotte, selling 220 breakfasts.
