Opposition continues to mount against a proposed rezoning effort in Ballantyne, even as Charlotte Mecklenburg city departments endorse the project. As of Feb. 15, 11 home­owners’ ­associations in the Ballantyne area had joined together in an effort to fight the rezoning plan, with at least one homeowner saying that he planned to file a protest petition.
