Developer says unpaid Waxhaw property taxes an oversight
For the second year in a row, Historic Ventures LLC officials will ask Waxhaw commissioners to approve their downtown project. African Storytelling enriches Indian Trail community
African storytellers Obakunle Akinlana and April Turner lifted their voices in joyous song and spun enchanting Nigerian folktales Feb. 16 to an enthralled audience of children and adults celebrating Black History Month at Union West Regional Library in Indian Trail. And amid the festivities an impromptu band was christened – the Indian Trail Last-Minute African Band.
County districting recommendation near
Union County’s governance committee has settled on recommending a two-district, five at-large members voting scenario with just one question left: where to draw the district lines. At their Feb. 24 meeting, committee members debated three ways to divvy up the county.
